Carrie Pung
Board Member
Carrie Pung is a dedicated educator and community advocate who recently retired after 25 years of service in the field of education, with a special focus on Special Education. Throughout her career, she worked tirelessly to support students of all abilities, helping them grow with confidence, dignity, and a strong sense of belonging.
Carrie’s commitment to serving others extended well beyond the classroom. She has volunteered and served on numerous community boards, including Hilo ARC, the YWCA, the YMCA, the Boys & Girls Club of Hilo, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Brantley Center. Her involvement reflects a lifelong dedication to supporting youth, families, and individuals in need.
Now in retirement, Carrie enjoys spending quality time with her family and traveling, embracing opportunities to rest, reflect, and reconnect with the people and places she loves most.
Carrie is grateful for the opportunity to serve on the HLP Hāmākua Community Foundation Board and remains committed to giving back to the Hāmākua community with humility, compassion, and aloha.
