HLP Hamakua Community Foundation

I was asked to join HLP Hamakua Community Foundation because I knew the people and the needs of the community where I was born and have lived my entire life.  I serve HLP Hamakua Community Foundation as the Scholarship Chairperson.  I am involved with handing out college scholarships annually to students who demonstrate a high level of participation and leadership in school and community activities.

I have been married for over 40 years and have three children.  My family has hosted exchange students from Belgium, Brazil, Germany, and Japan, each for one school year.  I am a retired nurse, and I am now a substitute teacher at Kamehameha preschool in Hamakua and Waimea.  I have also served the island community as a 4-H club leader, Girl Scout leader, AYSO soccer coach, and PTA president.
